Taking a sale at the till

Ringing up, holding a sale, discounts, and what the keys do.

Point of Sale is the till. Products on the left, the order on the right, and a Charge button that takes the money.

Ringing up a sale

  1. 1Find the product — tap it, search by name or code, or scan a barcode. A scanner needs no setup: it types and presses Enter, which the till already understands.
  2. 2Adjust quantity with the plus and minus buttons, or type it directly.
  3. 3Attach a customer if the sale is on credit or earns loyalty points.
  4. 4Add a discount if needed, per line or on the whole sale.
  5. 5Press Charge Customer, choose how they are paying, and take payment.

Grid or list

The toggle above the products switches between picture cards and a compact list. The list shows roughly three times as many products with full names on one line, which is faster once your catalogue grows past a screenful. Your choice is remembered on that till.

Holding a sale

Hold parks the current basket and clears the till so you can serve the next person — for a customer who has gone back for another item, or is fetching their money. Held sales are listed at the top of the till and resuming one puts it straight back in the basket.

WakaERP will not let you sell stock you do not have. If a product is marked Out you cannot add it — fix the stock count first, either by receiving a purchase order or with a stock adjustment.
