A return is for goods coming back after a sale is finished. Unlike voiding, the original sale stays on record — which is what your books need.
- 1Find the original sale.
- 2Choose which items are coming back and how many. You cannot return more than was sold, or return the same item twice.
- 3Complete the return.
On completion the stock goes back on the shelf and the refund is recorded against the sale. Both steps happen together — a return can never restock without refunding, or refund without restocking.
